Sélys Milonguero 28/2, 1-2 March 2025

Dear Sélys Milonguero friends,

Looking forward to meet you at our fourth edition of Selys Milonguero at the Van Der Valk hotel Sélys in Liège..

To keep it intimate and intense, we are planning a gathering of about 180 people with an equal number of leaders and followers in the beautiful dance hall in the hotel itself.

We expect all participants to dance socially while respecting good tango practices (códigos), such as inviting by mirada and cabaceo, entering the floor correctly, dancing in rondas and lanes, etc.

Registrations start on Tuesday, 8 October with priority given to couples (male/female).

The full package includes 6 traditional milongas and a hotel stay.
Refreshments will be offered during the milongas. Alcoholic drinks are available at the hotel bar.

See you soon,
Sélys Milonguero team

Tango DJ’s 2024

Willemijn (Netherlands)

Her love for music was always the main inspiration for her as a dancer and teacher. When she plays, she connects with the dancers on the floor, with their hearts and makes it beat faster.
She especially enjoys playing music from the 1940s, loving the layering in the tangos from that era and finding the whole range of human emotions in them. She looks for a good balance between lyrical and rhythmic, romantic and dramatic pandas, keeping a close eye on the dynamics on the dance floor.
Just as dancing is a shared experience of attention between dance partners, for her, spinning involves the same degree of attention and care.

Jens-Ingo Brodesser (Belgium)

Fashions come and go! At a DJ-set he tries to catch the mood of the moment by observing the dancers and translate this feedback into the tanda. Diversity and changing impulses are the keywords. He likes to think of colours and shapes like when you paint a picture. You start at a certain point and let the whole thing evolve. Maybe you tell a story, maybe you are abstract but the most important is that you express something through the music you play and that you make the people dance!

Sascha Weinberger (Germany)

Traditional tango music (late 1920s to late 1950s) is the music he loves, but the music of the “Epoca de Oro” (1935-1945) is his real passion, even as a dancer.
He always chooses to combine rhythm and romance without neglecting the drama and tension of tango music.
His goal is to influence the energy on the Pista in a positive way, to keep the dancers at a high energy level and still see them happy and relaxed at the end of the Milonga.
He has been dancing tango since 2000 and since 2005 he has been a “Mood Maker” in the Milongas of the Rhine-Main area (until 2020 in my own Milongas in Darmstadt) as well as nationally and internationally

Myriam “La Cordobesa” (Spain)

Myriam was born in Córdoba in Argentina, where tango has always been present in her family.
After 18 years of tango lessons in France and 3 years as presenter of the radio programme “Tanguissimo”, she has been providing music in her own milonga in Toulouse for 8 years, then in milongas and festivals in Toulouse and France, and in tango milongueros in Italy, France and Spain.
She co-organises tango milongueros in Toulouse and Seville, where she currently lives.
Myriam “La Cordobesa” offers us a musical journey from the 1920s to 1950s, back to the golden age of tango, where energy and emotion alternate in a programme full of feeling and elegance.

Jean-Pierre Prinzie (Belgium)

Since 2014 DJ Prinz has put smiles on the faces of dancers. He is well known DJ in Belgium and was spotted at milongas, encuentros and festivals in Europe, Russia and Canada. He loves to shape the energy of the milonga, continuously playing with tandas of a different intensity, offering a wide range of orchestral styles and refreshing cortinas. He cares about the dance floor, delivering nicely structured and yet playful sets that make you want to dance on and on. Whether at a local milonga or an international venue, the ingredients remain the same: dancing pleasure, the traditional repertoire and lots of smiles. Let’s glow!

Jacques Rombauts (Belgium)

Organiser of Encuentro Boca Antwerp, Sélys Milonguero and Milonga Milonguera Kwartier in Antwerp. In the 25 years of Tango dancer, he evolved to the Milonguero style. He is DJ for more than 15 years, playing tandas at milongas, festivals and encuentros in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. He always chooses danceable energetic feel-good music from the Golden Age Orchestras and always in function of the dancers on the pista.
