Looking forward to meeting you at our sixth edition of Sélys Milonguero at the Van Der Valk hotel Sélys in Liège.
To keep it intimate and intense, we are planning a gathering of about 180 people with an equal number of leaders and followers in the beautiful dance hall in the hotel itself.
We expect all participants to dance socially while respecting good tango practices (códigos), such as inviting by mirada and cabaceo, entering the floor correctly, dancing in rondas and lanes, etc.
Registrations start on Wednesday, 9 September 2026 with priority given to couples (M/F).
The full package includes 6 traditional milongas and a hotel stay. Refreshments will be offered during the milongas. Alcoholic drinks are available at the hotel bar.
See you soon, Sélys Milonguero team
DJs
Jean-Pierre Prinzie (Belgium) Since 2014, Tango DJ Prinz from Bruges, Belgium, has been sharing his passion for tango music with dancers across Europe and beyond. Known for creating a warm atmosphere, he combines traditional tango repertoire with a variety of orchestral styles and carefully chosen cortinas. His tandas are thoughtfully mixed, always with an ear for excellent sound quality and the energy on the dance floor.
Expect great music, plenty of dancing and, of course, lots of smiles!
Bärbel Rücker (United Kingdom)
Bärbel has been part of the tango scene since 1997 – first as a dancer, then a teacher, and since 2008 as a DJ. Over the years, she has played more than 600 sets in 110 cities across 23 countries. She crafts her sets live, responding to the energy in the room. She often assembles tandas on the spot, allowing her to stay fully connected with the dancers and the flow of the evening. Her deep connection to traditional tango music from the 1920s to 1950s, combined with a strong intuitive sense for the right moment, results in musical choices that truly resonate on the dance floor.
Bärbel’s joy in DJing is infectious. It uplifts the mood of the event and creates a unique, memorable atmosphere.
Michele Sottocasa (Italy) Michele hails from Venice and has more than 20 years of experience as a DJ. He has been shaping the scene in Veneto for decades and is widely known in northern Italy and Lombardy as a beloved and popular DJ. With the 100% traditional milonga “Picaflor” in Venice, he is the pioneer of the milonguero scene in northern Italy. He is also the organiser of the Encuentro series “Rendez-Vous Milonguero” in Bologna and Venice. Michaele plays music from the 30s and 40s and puts special emphasis on social dancing, that is, everyone with everyone and curiosity about new things.
